I’m a Board Certified Coach and full-time professor at Austin Community College (ACC), where I’ve taught for over 15 years. I specialize in emotional and cognitive self-regulation skills, including time management, overcoming procrastination, setting and achieving goals, building positive habits and routines, and exploring career pathways. I teach Effective Learning Strategies and am the lead author and editor of Learning Framework: Strategies for College Success, a free Open Educational Resource used in classrooms nationwide.
I began my coaching journey by being the first supervisor of the Academic Coaching Program at ACC while serving as an adjunct professor. I’ve also worked at Rice University in Houston, where I was Director of the Community Involvement Center and taught a service-learning course connecting students with civic engagement and social impact projects.
In my private practice, I’ve coached students, professionals, and adults in transition for over five years. I hold a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education, along with graduate training in Counseling and Developmental Education.
Outside of work, I’m a mom to two young adults (one in college, one in grad school), a tennis enthusiast, and an avid knitter. I live in Austin, TX, with a spirited crew of pet, including a three-legged cat, and a backyard flock of chickens. I bring curiosity, empathy, and a love of learning to everything I do, and I’m passionate about helping people develop the tools to thrive in work, school, and life.
